Fuente Fuente Opus X Maduro

Extremely Rare. "Opus X Maduro cigars have maduro versions of the normal Dominican Republic rosado Opus X wrapper; this is different from the Añejos, which use Connecticut broadleaf maduro wrappers. The Opus X Maduro wrappers are grown on a small part of the Fuente farm, on the side of a hill, where they are left out longer to ripen before harvesting. Because of the limited area they are grown in, and the additional exposure to the elements, the yield is very small. Fuente has not been growing the maduro Opus X wrapper since 2001, so the supply of these cigars is currently even more limited." - Andrew Welch

"Opus X cigars (the first Dominican puro cigar made of 100% Domincan tobacco) were originally released to the public in a trickle at the end of 1995, and more widely in 1996. They were not sold west of the Mississippi river until the late 1990's. The original cigars had no gold lettering on the cellophane, and came in slide-top boxes." - Andrew Welch

Original Release Ashton VSG Rounds

"VSG "Rounds" are the oldest VSGs in existence. They were created in 1997, but were not released until 1999, when they were solid in limited quantities in cabinets of 50. "Regular release" VSGs are box-pressed, and the VSG "Rounds" are rumoured to have superior and more robust flavor (or it could just be the age). VSG "Rounds" come only in Corona Gorda, Robusto, Illusion and Belicoso No.1 sizes (though Sorcerer and Spellbound sizes have been auctioned in small quantities)." - Andrew Welch
